A strong gush of wind wakes me up as I feel the breeze
tingling in my ears, and brings to me the sound of early morning prayers, chirping
and bells. I dare not look into my clock’s eye for it just might spoil the mood
so I keep lying down enjoying the moment of tranquility. A beautiful good
morning it indeed is! The blanket fur soothes like nothing else in early winter
mornings and the bed consumes you. The last thing you want to do is deceive them
and walk out. Disguised selfishness.
This morning tells us so much about us and our lives. We
spend an eternity hunting for peace and love, we wander like stranded leaves maneuvering
the plains of life, but all we gather is a “mirage”, an illusion that assures
you happiness but laughs at your back once you are not looking. Why? Life is
the wine of our souls that tastes best when left alone with time. For those who
do nothing but whine over all that is lost or never received, life is a short
joke, but for others, a melody of loud and soft, fast and slow! Savor each tune,
so what if it’s drenched in pain and grief, it’s another colour of your life.
Someone once rightly said “hate” is not the opposite of “love”.
Hate is just love gone bad. The true antonym is apathy – when you stop feeling
a thing! So, the next time someone hates you, be glad, you were loved so dearly
once. Why do we hesitate to endure the spirit of
optimism? True loss is not when someone walks out of your life, but when, you cease
to try to bring the things on track. The reason is “hope” – the very root of
man’s existence. No religion, outlook, perception or stand has ever been able
to take hope away from man. It’s like the very prerequisite of life, something that’s
even far more crucial than breathing, a hope to live.
Life can, sadly and gladly, never be all pancakes and
roses, because if it was meant to be that ways why would man ever have faced
the need to coin the terms like “destiny”? Imagine a perfect world, which
almost all of us want to have. No nightmares, no heartbreaks, no pain and no
grief… but along with this we will have no dreams, no love, no joy and no
surprise! After all, nature runs on the principle of balance. How perfect would
you call your world created?
The meaning of life is a lot broader than we give it
credit for. It’s a small world and it’s high time we all accept this fact.
Ships are safest in the harbor, but that’s not what they are meant for. Life
teaches us to fight, not only others but also, ourselves! It teaches us through
a journey and pushes us to limits to make us realize the worth of words like “thank
you” and “sorry”, which most of us today callously use. It teaches us to
cherish victory and embrace failure. It tells us how failure is our only way to
success. It teaches us love; it teaches us faith, and most important; it
teaches us killing resistance with persistence!
Maybe you are right, maybe we do have too much to learn
and too much to do, too much to say and too much to share, all this, in a
single lifetime… But there is this one thing you and I, from today onwards,
will never forget…
“You live only once, but if you do it
right, once is enough!” – Mae West
