Of what human does to the world,
least realize the pain induced in others' lives, flora and fauna alike. I wake
up each morning wondering what atrocities I will come across today. Alas, my
wondering is never washed in vain! Each day, brings along with it an episode,
some sad, some joyous, some painful and some which you want to embrace for a
lifetime. A collection of such episodes creates a season we call life! If you
try and integrate your life with others you would realize how beautiful the
world can be. Alone is a tiring ride. But it also teaches you the “don’ts” of
life, shows you a reality you would have otherwise loved to ignore, and tell
you in your face how brutal your race is! As I previously said nothing is
pancakes and roses!
Time brought to me, what they
call as ‘sensation’, news about a child raped by her father, a mother killing her
son for she believes that this “sacrifice” would bring peace to her family, a
husband who murdered his wife as he was guilty of his own extra marital affair,
a boy committing suicide because he scored a B+ in exams. I call it an epidemic
and not a sensation. Life, when coined, was meant to be honored. We seek what
we don’t have and whine over our present – a gift!
If you look for once at your past
and that of our forefathers you’ll realize how the value of life has
depreciated over time. They kill for money, they kill for respect, they kill
for success – this war has lost the glory it once had! For how long will we
stay addicted to winning? How long will it take for us to realize that a life
costs much more than a bullet? How long will man take to believe that all that gold
isn’t worth a dime if harvested on the bed of graves? I doubt an answer, but
only if you give it a thought I would consider my half job done…
Amidst peril and
distress lies the future of mankind, for it shall reap what it has sown for all
these years, decades, centuries… Easy it is to say but, we live a life in a gray-scale where the colors of joy, satisfaction, love, mercy, respect, comfort
and wisdom have left long back. There was a dialogue in one of the most sought
after movies titled “The Blood Diamond”, in that Leonardo DiCaprio
says ”Sometimes I wonder: Will God ever forgive us for what we've
done to each other? Then I look around and I realize... God left this place a
long time ago.” This quote is not a statement, but an idea, an idea that tells us
that it’s too late to stay pending anymore!
How many times have
you actually read about “change”? How many times have you tried to implement that
in your life? And how many times have you actually succeeded? Change is a phase
that is born inside one’s heart and mind, and then it sets out to conquer your
life, and not vice-versa. The very reason why we’ve all failed at implementation
is because we inspire our outside and forget to inspire our inside at the same
time. But this time we have no reasons to fail, because we know the very basic
answer to the magical word behind failure, i.e. “Why?”
For once ask yourself, do you want to live this life? Do you want to breath in uncertainty? Do you want to see this world burn in the
fires of anguish and hate? Is this the world you want to gift to your
children?
Remember;
“We have not inherited this world
from our forefathers. But, we have borrowed it from our children!”
