The best thing about life is the “moment”. It’s what defines
you, what makes you who you are. No matter how much you plan, built or
construct, it’s in that one moment that things happen, lives change. You
realize that nothing is ever perfect, or even close to it. One moment in life
can transform the façade of your expectations from life and make it the most
epic fiction you've ever come across. Things we never thought would happen to
us, things we swore we’ll never do, people we promised we’ll stay forever with,
love, faith, guilt, desires, hopes – all that we ever owned, shaken – for good
or for bad, is a matter of perspective.
We meet people, we bind them in expectations, we fall in
love, we make promises and we hope to hold on to them forever. Life, as they
say, was never served on a platter. The
irony of reality is it’s unpredictability. The minute you start settling with the lemons life gave you, peaches begin to grow. We all have that one moment we regret, one moment that makes us proud, one moment that gives us the strength, one moment that tells us that life, goes on... Yet we trust, we expect and all this just to savour disappointment. I might be too young to understand how people make all the difference in one's life, but I am perhaps too old to not realize that you become what you choose.
We all have made the wrong calls in lives, so have I. Some forgive and forget, some never forgive and others, never forget - it's a choice we all make. I too have made my picks in life, wrong or right, irrespective. What matters is what your hindsight tells you. Does it tell you to regret the possibilities, that how things could have been different if you would have taken that small brave step further? Or does it tell you that you did all that you could, though it didn't really pay-off that well each time? Do you regret who you are for all that you have done, or do you regret not being someone you could have been? Given a choice, I would NEVER favour the latter...
This world is too impatient. It ignores the present, lives in the past and worries about what never happened. No way are you going to make this whole world happy - that is not their natural state any more. We live in a generation where "satisfaction" is the biggest selling fiction ever, where "ignorance" is a religion and criticism, "human nature". We have evolved as an emotionally and physically weaker specie, who stays naive towards it's own neighbourhood and calls is "personal space". Before Copernicus came everyone thought that the world was flat and that all other celestial bodies revolved around it. What the world today needs is another Copernicus for all those people who think that the world revolves around them.
So the next time you feel like doing something, do it. It is better to frown at all the things you ever said/done, than to live in the fog of possibilities. Tell people what you really feel about them, nothing helps them grow better in life. Scared of offending them? People who love you will never get offended, and those who do, are not the ones you need in life. If you love something, stand for it - may it be Justin Beiber, gay marriages, religion - or something as simple as someone you admire. People judge us all the time, but they also forget the same way. The day you accept yourself for who you are is the day the world will be proud of you. Happiness then, becomes a lifestyle and success, a habit.
Conclusively, love yourself as "you" are the only one you'll ever have, in each fight of your life, till the end... And everyone else, will fall in place...
